It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the McMinn County Cherokees can now relate to. They suffered a tough 34-10 loss at the hands of Clinton on Friday. McMinn County just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Despite the loss, McMinn County still got an impressive performance from Jacob Sharp, who rushed for 80 yards on only ten carries, and also picked up 31 receiving yards.
Clinton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joshuah Keith, who threw for 316 yards and a touchdown while picking up 12.2 yards per attempt. Bryson Maddox also helped out with an impressive 97 receiving yards.
McMinn County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Clinton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-6.
McMinn County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Clinton will head out on the road to face off against Oak Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Ridge is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
