Elevation Prep Academy fought the good fight in their overtime match against Rock Hill on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 73-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bearcats. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Saturday (56), Elevation Prep Academy still had to take the loss.
Despite their loss, Elevation Prep Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. IZEIR MAYBEN, who scored six points along with 11 assists and six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. MAYBEN is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. HARVEY BEDELL was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with four steals.
Even though they lost, Elevation Prep Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Charlotte Elite Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Comenius 98-53 on the road. With Charlotte Elite Academy ahead 55-27 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Jared Taylor continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 34 points along with nine rebounds. The matchup was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Jones, who scored seven points along with 11 assists.
Elevation Prep Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Charlotte Elite Academy, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Keep an eye on the arc in Monday's match: Elevation Prep Academy have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 6.2 threes per game. It's a different story for Charlotte Elite Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 4.3 threes per game. Given Elevation Prep Academy's sizeable advantage in that area, Charlotte Elite Academy will need to find a way to close that gap.
