The Tarpon Springs Spongers just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Hudson Cobras at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
Tarpon Springs suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 70-28 loss at the hands of Clearwater. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tarpon Springs in their matchups with Clearwater: they've now lost nine in a row.
Meanwhile, Hudson's six-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 64-45 win over Dunedin. Hudson's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Terrance Davis and Tejacion Chapman were among the main playmakers for Hudson as the former scored 19 points along with five rebounds and the latter scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Davis scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshia Davis, who scored six points.
Tarpon Springs' loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Hudson, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9.
Tarpon Springs was able to grind out a solid win over Hudson when the teams last played back in November of 2023, winning 63-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tarpon Springs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
