J.L. Mann can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hillcrest 68-38 at home. Given J.L. Mann's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Hillcrest is ranked 181st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
J.L. Mann got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anaya Dillard out in front who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia McKinney, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Clover had to suffer through a rough 61-27 loss at the hands of Rock Hill. Clover has not had much luck with Rock Hill recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Clover had strong showings from Clara Powell, who scored seven points along with two steals, and Olivia Lewter, who scored three points along with seven rebounds.
J.L. Mann is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for Clover, their loss dropped their record down to 16-9.
J.L. Mann strolled past Clover in their previous matchup back in February of 2022 by a score of 45-27. Does J.L. Mann have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clover turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
