The Waxahachie Prep Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 51-44 to Victory Baptist Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Waxahachie Prep of the 64-54 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Victory Baptist Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaac Johnson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 24 rebounds. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 16 times he's played. Another player making a difference was David Lamb, who scored 17 points along with nine assists.
Waxahachie Prep bumped their record down to 2-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Victory Baptist Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waxahachie Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face Cornerstone Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for Victory Baptist Academy, they will challenge Temple Christian at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday.
