The Council Rock North Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to Neshaminy. While losing is never fun, Council Rock North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 349th, while Neshaminy is ranked 154th).
Neshaminy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nate Townsend, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 assists. Emeer Coombs was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Council Rock North has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Neshaminy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Council Rock North will take on Pennsbury at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Neshaminy, they will be playing at home against Bensalem at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
