The WISH Academy Owls stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 91-20 victory over Simon Tech. Winning may never get old, but WISH Academy sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Dawit Kebede was the offensive standout of the matchup as he scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Enoch Tessema, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Simon Tech lost, one person who can't be blamed is Karlos Hodgson. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with two blocks. That was a full 85% of Simon Tech's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Simon Tech struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as WISH Academy pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.
WISH Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Simon Tech, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-7.
WISH Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Animo Venice at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Animo Venice focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday. As for Simon Tech, they will head out on the road to challenge Animo Watts at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
