The Cypress Ranch Mustangs will face off against the Bridgeland Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cypress Ranch is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Cypress Ranch is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Cypress Woods just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.
Naomi Walker made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Sabrina Bingham was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Bridgeland waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. Everything went their way against the Spartans as they made off with a 14-1 victory. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 games by six runs or more this season.
Bridgeland let Stevie Scheiffele and Lucy Sharon run wild. Scheiffele went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Sharon went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Scheiffele a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luciana Correa, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Bridgeland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 13 consecutive contests.
Cypress Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 20-8-1. As for Bridgeland, their win bumped their record up to 25-4.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Cypress Ranch has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .465. However, it's not like Bridgeland struggles in that department as they've averaged .505. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cypress Ranch came up short against Bridgeland in their previous matchup back in March, falling 11-7. Will the Mustangs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
