Even though the Becker Bulldogs have not done well against the Princeton Tigers recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Becker came out on top against Princeton by a score of 98-86. Given Becker's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Princeton is ranked 389th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kyan Blomquist was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mitchell Soltau, who scored 15 points.
Becker's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 87.0 points per game. As for Princeton, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Becker on the road again on Tuesday and play against Cambridge-Isanti at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th.
