The Beech Grove Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell just short of Indianapolis Scecina Memorial by a score of 45-43. Beech Grove was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Beech Grove still got an impressive performance from Simeon Mcintosh, who scored 12 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyquan Lee, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Beech Grove were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. This was only their 11th loss (out of 14 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Beech Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.
Beech Grove will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. NorthWood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Hornets in Indiana (the Panthers are ranked 60th, while the Hornets are ranked 299th). As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, they will be playing at home against the Cadets at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cascade is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
