The Curtis Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the New Dorp Central Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Curtis was beaten by Erasmus Hall 40-13. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Curtis in their matchups with Erasmus Hall: they've now lost seven in a row.
Chauncey Mims put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Mims was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards.
Meanwhile, New Dorp earned a 28-20 win over Wagner on Friday.
Erasmus Hall's victory bumped their season record to 7-2 while Curtis' loss dropped theirs to 4-5.
Everything came up roses for Curtis against New Dorp in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 34-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Curtis since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
