The Social Circle Redskins will head out to take on the Jasper County Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Social Circle comes in on three and Jasper County on seven.
Social Circle is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 56-17 victory over McNair. The result was nothing new for the Redskins, who have now won four matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.
Social Circle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christian Paggett, who rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Paggett's longest rush was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. King Box was in the mix as well, providing Social Circle with two TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Social Circle was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 354 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Jasper County posted their closest win since October 18, 2024 two weeks ago. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past McNair 21-18. The 21-point effort marked the Hurricanes' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Jasper County's win came from a few key players Social Circle will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Chance Ross, who rushed for 151 yards and one score while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Dee Pennaman was another key receiver, picking up 51 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Social Circle's record is now 5-2. As for Jasper County, their record now sits at 7-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Social Circle has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 208.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Jasper County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 212 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Social Circle couldn't quite finish off Jasper County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 and fell 31-29. Thankfully for the Redskins, Jalen Stewart (who rushed for 177 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.4 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
