Last Friday, Eastmoor Academy escaped with a win against Marion-Franklin by the margin of a single free throw, 66-65.
Eastmoor Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from King Moody, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moody has scored all season. James Nowell was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Africentric Early College earned a 64-53 victory over Westerville South on Saturday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Africentric Early College's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 508th, while Westerville South is ranked 75th).
Eastmoor Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Africentric Early College, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.
Eastmoor Academy might still be hurting after the 76-54 defeat they got from Africentric Early College in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Eastmoor Academy was down 40-18.
