The victory was a breath of fresh air for Academy for Academic Excellence as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Hesperia Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Arlan Koester, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. Koester is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. Ethan Flores was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Academy for Academic Excellence's victory bumped their record up to 4-18. As for Hesperia Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
Academy for Academic Excellence will head out on the road to challenge the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. University Prep is on a ten-game streak of home losses, the Knights a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
