Softball Recap: Lincoln Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Lincoln had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Burrillville on Saturday. The Lions' pitcher stepped up to hand the Broncos a 14-0 shutout. Considering the Lions have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

London Rapko looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sydney Marchand was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brooke Tillson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Lincoln lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Burrillville, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln will head out to take on Johnston at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Burrillville, they will venture away from home to square off against West Warwick at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wizards will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Broncos surely won't give up without a fight.
