Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only East Lincoln walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 49-13 win over Ledford on the road. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for East Lincoln's zero-point performance the game before.
East Lincoln found their leader in underclassman Grant Lawless, who threw for 361 yards and five touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes. Riley Shropshire also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, West Henderson put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Erwin 61-15 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.
Carson Dimsdale was his usual excellent self, rushing for 157 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries. Dimsdale was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards. Zane McCraw was another major influence, as he rushed for 87 yards and ran in a TD.
East Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for West Henderson, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-0.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as the pair haven't had much trouble getting there this season.
