After flying high against the Desert Christian Knights last Thursday, the Arvin Bears came back down to earth. Arvin ended up on the wrong side of a tough 76-52 walloping at the hands of Mira Monte on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Arvin in their matchups with Mira Monte: they've now lost seven in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Arvin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Leonardo Cano Rizo. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cano Rizo has scored all season.
Arvin has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Mira Monte, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Arvin will head out on the road to face off against Tehachapi at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mira Monte, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Foothill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Foothill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
