Make it six blowout wins for The Master's Academy Lions this season. They really took it to Lake Lure Classical Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-17 victory on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-5.
It was another big night for Faith Yelton, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. She hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Bell, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and five steals.
The Master's Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Lake Lure Classical Academy, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Master's Academy on the road again on Thursday and play against Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Arianna Ritz and Yelton. Lake Lure Classical Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bethel Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on February 5th.
