After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Stockbridge, the Calhoun Christian Cougars were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They blew past Athens, posting a 66-21 victory at home. The high-flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Calhoun Christian considering their 20-point performance the contest before.
Despite the loss, Athens still got an impressive performance from Kale Kiefer, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Calhoun Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Athens, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
Calhoun Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Marshall Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Athens' road trip will continue as they head out to face Burr Oak at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th. Hopefully Athens focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday.
