Foard has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the North Iredell Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Foard has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 27 points or more this season. They took their match at home on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 63-36 win over West Lincoln. The win was just what Foard needed coming off of a 67-37 loss in their prior game.
Davoney Dellinger was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with five steals. The contest was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Kinzer Abernathy was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, North Iredell entered their tilt with Davie with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. North Iredell came out on top against Davie by a score of 61-49 on Tuesday. Given North Iredell's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Davie is ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Foard's record is now 6-1. As for North Iredell, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2.
Foard might still be hurting after the 59-37 defeat they got from North Iredell when the teams last played back in January. Can Foard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
