The Bradshaw Mountain Bears are taking a road trip to challenge the St. Mary's Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bradshaw Mountain's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so St. Mary's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Bradshaw Mountain will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Mohave on Monday. Bradshaw Mountain blew past Mohave 14-1.

Kodee Statler made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Haedyn Wright was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Laila Silva was another key player, scoring four runs while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, St. Mary's came up short against Marcos de Niza on Tuesday and fell 10-6. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by exactly four runs.
Giahni Ruiz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Angie Figueroa, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Bradshaw Mountain now has a winning record of 3-2. As for St. Mary's, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bradshaw Mountain has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. However, it's not like St. Mary's struggles in that department as they've averaged .495. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bradshaw Mountain took their victory against St. Mary's in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 18-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bradshaw Mountain since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
