It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Our Lady of Good Counsel ultimately got the result they hoped for on Sunday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Paul VI Panthers 13-12. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Grace Mackrell, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Stone, who scored two runs while going 4-for-6.

Mackrell wasn't the only one making solid contact: Our Lady of Good Counsel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Our Lady of Good Counsel's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Paul VI, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-8.

Coming up, Our Lady of Good Counsel will take on Bishop Ireton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Paul VI, they will host Sidwell Friends at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers are facing the Quakers at the right time seeing as the Quakers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
