Softball Recap: Citrus Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Crystal River, Citrus was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lecanto Panthers a 5-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Hurricanes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past Bryce Rosier, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep Lecanto off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maddy Luider, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Alicia Demott, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Citrus' win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Lecanto, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Citrus will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Weeki Wachee at 6:00 p.m. on the 31st. As for Lecanto, they will take on North Marion at 6:30 p.m. on the 30th.
