Saint Mary's Hall is 0-4 against Holy Cross since March of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Barons will host the Knights at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Saint Mary's Hall 3.2, Holy Cross 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Saint Mary's Hall barely beat San Antonio Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Barons blew past the Lions 13-2 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Barons, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Riley Wallace made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Meryl Jones, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Torrey Baker, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.
Saint Mary's Hall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Antonio Christian only posted a batting average of .200.
Meanwhile, Holy Cross posted their closest win since February 13th on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Incarnate Word, sneaking past 7-6.
Leena Garcia was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Ariel Bosman, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
The victory (which was Saint Mary's Hall's third in a row) raised their record to 13-6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Holy Cross, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Saint Mary's Hall has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .449. However, it's not like Holy Cross struggles in that department as they've averaged .540. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Saint Mary's Hall suffered a grim 20-2 defeat to Holy Cross in their previous meeting back in April of 2018. Will the Barons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
