Mt. Carmel extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Sullivan. They skirted past the Sullivan Redskins 39-37. The win was nothing new for the Golden Aces as they're now sitting on 13 straight.
Mt. Carmel got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maycee Randall out in front who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 14 boards. Randall has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Stevens, who posted ten points along with seven boards and three steals.
Mt. Carmel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.
Several Redskins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emily Miller, who had six points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Miller now owns an excellent 45% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Shae Ellis, who scored four points and six boards.
Mt. Carmel's win bumped their record up to 28-4. As for Sullivan, they moved to 29-4 with that defeat, which also ended their 15-game winning streak.
Mt. Carmel wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 42-32 victory against Teutopolis on the 27th. Sullivan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
