After eight games on the road, Citrus Hill is heading back home. They will take on the San Jacinto Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Citrus Hill has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 404 points over their last six contests.
Citrus Hill pushed their score all the way to 60 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to West Valley 65-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Tuesday (59), Citrus Hill still had to take the loss.
The losing side was boosted by Roland Thibodeaux, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. Jerren White was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, San Jacinto pushed their score all the way to 66 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 80-66 fall against Heritage. San Jacinto has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
San Jacinto's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Stephen Castleberry, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds, and Josiah Mejia who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Mejia continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Manasseh Omonua, who scored three points along with two blocks.
Citrus Hill's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-13. As for San Jacinto, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Citrus Hill came up short against San Jacinto in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 62-55. Can Citrus Hill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
