The Harvest Christian Academy Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Timothy Christian Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Harvest Christian Academy has given up an average of 12.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Things were looking good for Harvest Christian Academy after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 14-9 to Saint Viator.
Kenzie Weidman was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Miller, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Timothy Christian entered their tilt with Wheaton Academy on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
The result came thanks to Maci Woerner's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sophia Mook, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chloe Wetterquist, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Harvest Christian Academy dropped their record down to 11-13 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Timothy Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Harvest Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. However, it's not like Timothy Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .357. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
