They were the victim of a tough 52-26 defeat at the hands of Triplains/Brewster. Heartland Christian has struggled against Triplains/Brewster recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Triplains/Brewster's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ben Peterson led the charge by scoring 14 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Peterson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Zerr, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Heartland Christian's defeat was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.7 points per game. As for Triplains/Brewster, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
Heartland Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Weskan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Triplains/Brewster will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Golden Plains at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Golden Plains focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday.
