Vero Beach is a perfect 10-0 against Central since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Vero Beach's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Centennial 37-0. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Eagles are ranked 294th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Vero Beach's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Efrem White led the charge by throwing for 216 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes. Austin Banzhaf was in the mix as well, providing the Indians with two TDs.
Vero Beach didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Centennial to a completion percentage of just 41.7%. The team can thank Jamarion Hillsman for the heroic effort on defense: he. Given White's standout performance, it's clear Centennial's secondary just wasn't on the same level.

Meanwhile, Central put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game with ease, bagging a 50-6 victory over Tradition Prep. With the Cobras ahead 36-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Vero Beach better keep an eye on Duane Simon. He was instrumental in Central's win, picking up 96 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 56 yards and one touchdown. Simon got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 54 yards.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Central, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Marquan Burgess, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Vero Beach's record is now 4-0. As for Central, their record now sits at an identical 4-0.
Everything came up roses for Vero Beach against Central in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 35-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
