Softball Recap: St. Benedict at Auburndale's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

St. Benedict at Auburndale waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Houston Mustangs 10-1. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Zoie Bernard, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Meredith McCusker was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and one double.

St. Benedict at Auburndale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

St. Benedict at Auburndale's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Houston, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coincidentally, St. Benedict at Auburndale and Houston will both be playing Tipton-Rosemark Academy the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will head out to face the Rebels at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
