Make it seven blowout wins for the Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Calvary Day School 73-13 at home. That looming 73-13 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Wesleyan Christian Academy yet this season.
Wesleyan Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kennedy Jackson out in front who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five blocks. That's the first time this season that Jackson posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Taylor Hawley, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Calvary Day School struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Wesleyan Christian Academy pulled down 19 offensive rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Wesleyan Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 15-7. As for Calvary Day School, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wesleyan Christian Academy will take on Grace Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grace Christian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Calvary Day School, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Asheville School (Independent) at 1:00 p.m. Asheville School (Independent) knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Calvary Day School likes a good challenge.
