The Chopticon Braves will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Fairmont Heights Hornets at 12:30 p.m. on December 29th.
Last Tuesday, Chopticon was beaten by James Madison 54-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chopticon has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Chopticon had strong showings from Brian McMahon, who scored nine points along with five steals, and Braylon Harrison, who scored eight points. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him.
Meanwhile, Fairmont Heights put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They wrapped up 2023 with a 71-52 victory over Lackey.
Fairmont Heights' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Amari Brice-Johnson, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Zion McQueen, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The match was McQueen's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of John Jones, who scored six points along with three steals.
Chopticon's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-3. As for Fairmont Heights, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
