General Brown has been on the road for five straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Marcellus Mustangs at 1:30 p.m. General Brown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 549th, while Marcellus is ranked seventh).
General Brown's 18-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They had to suffer through a rough 79-29 loss at the hands of Chittenango. General Brown was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-19.
Meanwhile, Marcellus put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Skaneateles 58-37. Marcellus might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Marcellus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Will Burnett led the charge by scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The match was Burnett's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Will Kershaw, who scored 16 points.
General Brown bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Marcellus, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
