Two dominant signal callers in Xiovan Tomlinson and Tripp Wilcoxson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Texas School for the Deaf Rangers will take on the Prince of Peace Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Texas School for the Deaf has given up an average of 34.6 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Texas School for the Deaf will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up eight points two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Round Rock Christian Academy on Friday. The Rangers enjoyed a cozy 70-53 victory over the Crusaders. The Rangers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Texas School for the Deaf to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyle Pomilio, who rushed for 67 yards and three TDs on only seven carries, and also picked up 60 receiving yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Pomilio has posted since back in November of 2024. Izaiah Flores got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Texas School for the Deaf didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Round Rock Christian Academy to a completion percentage of just 42.3%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Flores, Zaiden Hodges, and Nash Parker, who each logged one passes deflected. Texas School for the Deaf wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 51.7%.
Texas School for the Deaf didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Jarvis Coons-Price led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Texas School for the Deaf received some extra help from Coons-Price, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Prince of Peace never got on the board in their matchup back in October, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Trinity two weeks ago. They blew past the Chargers, posting a 53-7 win. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Chargers are ranked 206th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
The victory got Texas School for the Deaf back to even at 4-4. As for Prince of Peace, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Everything went Texas School for the Deaf's way against Prince of Peace in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as Texas School for the Deaf made off with a 58-38 win.
