 In other batting news,  Addi Adams was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Olivia Lowry, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances.
 Even though they lost, Martinsville  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. That's the fewest  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 Martinsville has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost six of their last seven matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record  this season. As for Brownstown/St. Elmo, their win bumped their record up to 2-15.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Martinsville will be staying on the road  on Tuesday to face off against Oblong at 4:30  p.m. As for Brownstown/St. Elmo, they will  square off against Webber at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
