The Purcell Marian Cavaliers will be taking part in a tournament against the Felicity-Franklin Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Felicity-Franklin took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Purcell Marian, who comes in off a win.
Purcell Marian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Mt. Healthy on Saturday as they made off with a 27-1 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cavaliers as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Ronan Ribar made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Eugene Ingram was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with six RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Brady Hopkins was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Purcell Marian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .682. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Felicity-Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of Blanchester.
Caleb Pauley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Bauer, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Purcell Marian's win bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Felicity-Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
