The Delta Panthers suffered their closest  loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Aspen by a score of  58-55. While losing is never fun, Delta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings  (they are ranked 167th, while Aspen is ranked 26th).
 Despite the loss, Delta still got an impressive performance from   Tucker Johnson, who  scored 27 points along with eight  rebounds and four  steals. Johnson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Logan Clay, who  scored seven points along with five  assists.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Aspen to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Giovanni Seeman, who  dropped  a double-double on 11 points and ten  rebounds.  Kristo Klavins was another key contributor,  scoring ten points.
 This is  the second loss in a row for Delta and  nudges their season record down to 4-8. As for Aspen, the  victory was  the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
 Delta won't have much time to rest: their next  game is against Moffat County at 3:30  p.m.  on January 20th. Allowing an average of 59.4 points per game, Moffat County has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this  matchup. As for Aspen, they will look to defend their home court  on Tuesday against Vail Mountain at 7:00  p.m.
