Berthoud kept up with Greeley Central until halftime on Thursday, but afterwards: not so much. The Wildcats' defense stepped up to hand the Spartans a 3-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Greeley Central, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Berthoud with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Diego Guzman, Elias LeFebre, and Fernando Huizar-Diaz.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Greeley Central, bringing their record up to 10-1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those four matches. As for Berthoud, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Coincidentally, Greeley Central and Berthoud will both be playing Roosevelt the next time they take the pitch. The Spartans will head out to face the Roughriders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wildcats will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
