Baseball Recap: First State Military Academy Wins Going Away Against Dickinson

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Conrad Science, First State Military Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Dickinson Rams 10-1. With that victory, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Steven Bright and Maddox Holland were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Bright didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Holland tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bright has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Bright got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Holland went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. First State Military Academy is undefeated when Bright posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, Aaron Black was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Allaband, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

First State Military Academy pushed their record up to 5-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Dickinson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

First State Military Academy will host Delaware Military Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Seahawks' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Dickinson, they are taking a road trip to take on Brandywine at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
