Softball Recap: Cherokee Has No Trouble Against Hayesville

Cherokee won the last time they faced Hayesville and things went their way on Monday too. The Braves blew past the Yellowjackets 12-1. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 11 runs or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Cherokee and bumps their season record up to 5-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Hayesville, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cherokee will take on rival Swain County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Braves 3.9, the Maroon Devils 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Hayesville is set to square off against their familiar foe Robbinsville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
