Christopher Martinez was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Alhambra always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North only posted an OBP of .000.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, ALA - Gilbert North made sure to put some runs up on the board against Combs on Monday. The Eagles blew past the Coyotes 13-1. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Coyotes recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Tate Clarkson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Zack Genet, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Alhambra's record now sits at 18-6-1. As for ALA - Gilbert North, their record is now 18-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Alhambra has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like ALA - Gilbert North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Alhambra couldn't quite get it done against ALA - Gilbert North in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 as they fell 8-4. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
