Basketball Recap: Rector Comes Up Short

Rector suffered their biggest loss since February 22nd on Monday. They were dealt a 64-30 defeat at the hands of the Riverside Rebels. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Rebels recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Despite the loss, Rector still got an impressive performance from Rylee Wilburn, who shot 55% from the field en route to 17 points. Wilburn's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Micalea Ward also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 4-3. As for Riverside, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Rector didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-50 defeat against Maynard on the 9th. As for Riverside, they are taking a road trip to challenge East Poinsett County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
