The Johnson County Longhorns's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They lost to Arizona College Prep on the road by a decisive 56-41 margin. While losing is never fun, Johnson County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 295th in Tennessee, while Arizona College Prep is ranked 80th in Arizona).
Among those leading the charge was Alex Neill, who scored 14 points along with 9 rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Justice Moore, who scored 6 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals.
Johnson County's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Arizona College Prep, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Johnson County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Ridge at 8:00 p.m. on December 19th. Arizona College Prep is on the road again on Friday and play against Desert View at 1:00 p.m. on December 8th.
