The Crisp County Cougars can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against Thomasville by a score of 49-42. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Crisp County also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Zakariyya Dwight continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ladarius Smith, who scored 12 points.
Despite the defeat, Thomasville had strong showings from Nigel Pittman, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, and Xavier Burkes jr., who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pittman has scored all season.
Crisp County's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Thomasville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
Crisp County will be playing at home against Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Monroe has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 230 points over their last three contests. As for Thomasville, they will head out on the road to square off against Columbus at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
