The Bradenton Christian Panthers typically have all the answers at home, but on Thursday the Keswick Christian Crusaders proved too difficult a challenge. They enjoyed a cozy 54-39 victory over the Panthers. The victory was familiar territory for Keswick Christian who now have three in a row.
Ava Graham was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Graham is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Robyn Cantwell, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Katherine Mercer, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Taylor Blunden was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Keswick Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Bradenton Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-8.
Keswick Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. Lakeside Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 525th, while the Crusaders are ranked 83rd). As for Bradenton Christian, they will face off against the Cougars at TBD on Friday. Cardinal Mooney will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
