The Diller-Odell Griffin suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 72-34 loss at the hands of Johnson-Brock. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Diller-Odell in their matchups with Johnson-Brock: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Diller-Odell still got an impressive performance from Cooper Morgan, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. Tj Vitosh was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Johnson-Brock to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lleyton Behrends, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Behrends scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Koehler, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Diller-Odell has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Johnson-Brock, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Diller-Odell will face off against Southern on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Southern is ranked 170th, while Diller-Odell is ranked 157th). As for Johnson-Brock, they will head out on the road to challenge Lewiston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lewiston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
