Pitman is 10-0 against Modesto since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Pitman Pride will square off against the Modesto Panthers at 3:30 p.m. Pitman is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.5 goals per game this season.

Pitman took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Downey. Given the Pride's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Knights are ranked 502nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Emily Martinez and Karen Perez scored both of Pitman's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

Meanwhile, Modesto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to Turlock.

Modesto's loss dropped their record down to 1-12-2. As for Pitman, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4-1.

Everything went Pitman's way against Modesto when the teams last played last Tuesday, as Pitman made off with a 10-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pitman since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
