The Richland County Tigers were the 38-30 winner over the Centralia Orphans when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Richland County took a 49-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Centralia.
Richland County lost on Monday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being GRAYCE BURGENER, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Reagan Brown, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Richland County struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Richland County's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-14. As for Centralia, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-9.
Richland County will head out on the road to take on Effingham at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Effingham will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Richland County surely won't give up without a fight. Centralia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
