Bastrop is 9-1 against Franklin Parish since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Bastrop stacked a 20th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 51-4 win over North Webster. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-2.
Bastrop got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alana Myles out in front who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Mariah Heard, who scored 13 points.
While Franklin Parish couldn't quite beat Neville on Tuesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 21-point defeat they were dealt on Friday. Franklin Parish fell just short of Neville by a score of 56-53. While losing is never fun, Franklin Parish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Neville is ranked 33rd).
Bastrop pushed their record up to 26-0 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.25 points. As for Franklin Parish, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
Bastrop beat Franklin Parish 56-43 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Will Bastrop repeat their success, or does Franklin Parish have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
