Basketball Recap: Hayden Brohard's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ursuline Academy over Bishop Lynch

After flying high against Legacy Christian Academy last Tuesday, Ursuline Academy came back down to earth. The Ursuline Academy Bears fell just short of the Bishop Lynch Friars by a score of 60-57 on Friday. The Bears' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Ursuline Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden Brohard, who posted eight points along with ten rebounds and five assists. That's the most boards Brohard has posted since back in November of 2024. Annabelle Tobin was another key player, going 7 of 17 on her way to 16 points.

Ursuline Academy now has a losing record at 13-14. As for Bishop Lynch, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-13.

Ursuline Academy will be playing at home against John Paul II at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Ursuline Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups. As for Bishop Lynch, they will square off against Prestonwood Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prestonwood Christian will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Bishop Lynch surely won't give up without a fight.
